With the temperature dropping and the days getting shorter, it’s clear that winter is just around the corner. The holiday season brings it with it some much loved events to Cambridge so be sure to brave the chilly weather this month and get out there to make the most of all the city has to offer!
Winter Ice and Lights
December 2 – January 2
Central Park truly shines during the winter months! Bring your skates any day or night to enjoy the synthetic ice skating rink for tons of family fun. Take a walk through the park and enjoy the spectacular lighted displays. On Monday nights in December, Willy Melt will be making a visit to the park from 6:30 - 7 p.m. Free admission.
Phil Kline's Unsilent Night
December 7 at 7 p.m.
Once again, music, art and architecture combine for an avant-garde experience! Bring your mp3 player with speakers or your portable CD player and join the moving symphony in this modern twist to caroling. Participants will download music at www.unsilentnight.com then enjoy walking a 45-minute route in downtown Cambridge while sharing music through their speakers. To enhance the walk, 30+ light installations have been added for walkers to appreciate! Meet at Cambridge City Hall.
Christmas in Cambridge Market
The best of artisans and creators fill Cambridge City Hall to provide many options for last minute Christmas buys. Each day will have a special entertainment feature and true to tradition, Saturday will incorporate the Cambridge Farmers' Market.
RBC New Year's Eve Party
Celebrate the arrival of 2017 with family and friends at Hespeler Arena! Your family can skate from 5-6, 6-7 or 7-8 p.m. Doors will open at 4:45 p.m. so you can pick up the wristband that corresponds to the time you and your family would like to skate. There will also be activities to keep everyone entertained off the ice - enjoy crafts, games, a photo booth and bouncy castle!
